About The Performance Group

Since 1996, The Performance Group, Inc., has helped thousands of people take control of their personal and professional lives. Our interactive, high-energy seminars and keynotes help organizations and individuals reach higher levels of achievement by focusing on the belief that attitude is ultimately more important than skill. Companies throughout the United States, including West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, and Washington DC rely on Chuck's expertise in their every day operations.

As a corporate trainer for an international service company, Chuck Stump spent 15 years presenting programs that were targeted at skills. Often, participants would arrive to trainings with negative attitudes that not only prevented them from learning the material, but also disrupted the entire class. Employees with negative attitudes do the same thing. They disrupt processes, create conflict between co-workers and customers, and cause productivity and profits to fall.

Meet Founder Chuck Stump

Chuck Stump is an engaging, knowledgeable speaker and management consultant. Since 1996, he has presented over 1700 fun and informative presentations in the areas of leadership, communication, individual and organizational behavior, client care, and change management.  His seminars utilize over thirty years of hard-learned life lessons that help people change not only the way they think…but the way they act!

Using his diverse background and experience as a corporate manager and an entrepreneur, Chuck’s mission is to help organizations and individuals increase profits and out-perform their competition.

He founded The Performance Group, Inc., on the fundamental belief that attitude is ultimately more important than skill. His seminars, coaching, and consulting services are designed to help clients improve business processes while improving the value of their greatest asset – its people.

His client list reads like a “Who’s-Who” of business and includes successful companies like Leadership West Virginia, City National Bank, and West Virginia University, just to name a few.

In 2007, Chuck partnered with fellow West Virginian Jim Strawn to independently publish The Sad Mad Glad Book – The Anatomy of Your Attitude.  A sequel, Another Sad Mad Glad Book, was released September 2008, and both books have been International Gold Medal winners! The series now boasts four gold medal award winning titles with The Sad Mad Glad Christian – The Anatomy of Your Faith (2009) and The Sad Mad Glad Baby (2011).  These inspirational books help children get a jump on life by using American folk wisdom to teach and reinforce the benefits of a positive attitude, strong character, the life-long value of helping others.
